How can I export my inbox and sent items in Outlook Express6 so I can put them on another machine?

There's probably a hipper way, Force Flow, but I just make a new directory in OE and move or copy everything I want to it. Make the name of the directory a little oddball. Then I close OE, go to where you keep the inbox ('J' drive for me) and find everything with that name. Move or copy those files to the different machine's directory, and it will be recognized when OE starts up there.

Would the inbox be in the "C:\program files\Outlook express" folder, or is it stored somewhere else?
I'm running win98SE.

I guess?? I've always had mine on my "scrap" drive for so long I forget the default directory.
You can find out real easy, though. Open Tools > Options, then click on the Maintenance tab. Near the bottom, you see the "Store Folder" button. Click on it and the the Store Location dialog will popup. There, it will show where your current directory is located.

Good link, Confused! I'm surprised their method for moving / backing up email is the same I use. The other info is very handy and I bookmarked the site.
Nice tip!

Thanks TwoRails. It's in the "c:\windows\application data\identities" folder.
