direct x - bloody microsoft

Hi - ive got a dedicated games machine that is not connected to the net - ive just installed delta force black hawk down but it won't let me play as i have direct x 8.0 and i need 8.1..

Ive tried to download version 9 from microsoft but it just does a web install and i can't actuall save the program then burn it so i can install it on the other PC..any idea how/where i can get it from ??
