A friend of mine is going to get RoadRunner cable and he has run into a few snags. Time Warner needs to run a new cable line from the box into his house, apparently it is better then the existing line. They did this at my house too. His problem is that his dad doesnt want any holes drilled into the house. Is there a way for them to run the line into the house through an existing connection on the outside of the house?

Secondly, once the line is hooked up, he needs a splitter for his modem to connect. They need extra length from the coaxial cable, before it is split, due to the jack being located behind a massive wall unit. Is it possible to have a cable coming from the wall jack out a few feet, and then be split? Then they wont have to move the unit.

Thanks in advance! :)

A good cable installer will route the new cable in place of the existing one, without making any new holes in anything.
A splitter can be put anywhere.

I would be sucking up to dad a little more if I were him :D

They did the exact thing that Jim says when they put new cable from junction into my house.

Mine was needed because I cut it and the phone cable myself. I've now learned to call Bud before I dig.

Thanks you guys. :) reboot, he's sucked up plenty. He has been wanting Cable for a long time. My other friends and I got it last summer, and he has been unable to game with us on his Dial Up for almost a year now. :(
