I have built a few computers with little knowledge of what I am doing and I have been getting a network error. The message reads, The following error occurred while loading protocol 0. Error 59: A network error has occurred. What does that mean?

When do you get this error? What operating system are you using? What network setup is there?
I would first try to uninstall and reinstall the network protocols and drivers for the network card.

I get the error on boot up after the logon password screen. the OS is Win98, I bought the computer cheep with ThizLinux on it and wiped out Linux and loaded Win98. The the modem, eithernet, graphics and sound are all onboard. After all the drivers were loaded from the motherboard installation cd everything was working fine (there were no error messages). The next day I was informed that the internet wasn't working on that computer and there was an error message. That's the one I posted.

Well I started having problems with a few other things so as of now the drive is blank and I shall reload Windows and keep it off the network until I get virus protection on the pc. I don't know if that has anything to do with the errror but one of the other computers had a Klez warning pop up.
thanks

Time to spring for the multiple-user licenses with Norton for all the computers.
Klez attacks mapped network drives - you get Klez on one machine and it will infect all of them.
