direct x 9 on rad9000pro

I have a radeon 9000 pro, which supports direct x 8.1. I have direct x 9 installed. How does that impact performance?

The DX9 games will run at less than their full glory, otherwise you should have no trouble.
Since there are no current DX9 games you'll have to worry about this later.
