Can a network with multiple (3-5) computers be set up to access the internet with one phone line and have all computers on line doing something different at the same time? If so how?
thanks

There are multiple ways you could go about doing that... This first is Microsofts ICS (internet connection sharing) It's fairly easy to setup and it comes with win98se. next would be to purchase a program such as WinProxy which give you more controll over the connections. As to the dial up modem I would have to suggest you go with a DSL connection or a Cable modem as a dial up will be incredibly slow. Best of Luck, Ian McLean.

If you were to use....say two phone lines and you had a Diamond SupraExpress in one of your machines, you could use their "shotgun technology" which allows you to utilize more than one modem in different machines to increase data transfer rate while still able to receive phone calls. One tel line drops out when you get an incoming call . Still the more online machines the slower the connection. Good luck!
