I am trying to clear my CMOS and was told to disconnect the cord from my motherboard does that mean pull the plug out of the laptop? And then was told to take out the battery. I've heard that computers have little batteries in them, So am I to take out my laptop battery or find the other battery?
How is cmos cleared on your laptop? If it's with a jumper, you don't need to remove any batteries.
However, any time you go inside a laptop, it's wise to remove the power cord and the system battery.

Sounds like whoever told U that didn't realize U were talking about a laptop. A regular PC they mean unplug from the wall or from the place where the cord goes into the PC, but laptop is different, you should just go into the BIOS manually and reset to defaults. You don't really want to mess around with opening up a laptop...
