If you want to convert DOC files to readable text on your desktop PC, there are a couple of programs available. DocReader simply converts DOC files in .prc or .pdb format to text, which can be copied and pasted into whatever program you wish. WordDocConvert is a plug-in to Microsoft Word, which allows Word to read DOC files. As an added bonus, WordDocConvert also opens JFile databases and converts them to .csv files which can be opened in Pocket Excel.
Once the DOC files have been converted to text, you can upload them directly to your Pocket PC either as a Pocket Word file or an html file. If you like to use Microsoft Reader, there are a couple of programs which convert text files to Reader format. Microsoft has a plug-in for Word which automatically converts your document into a Reader file. There is also a standalone program by ReaderWorks which allows you to convert text and html files to Reader format and do more fancy formatting of the Reader file such as adding a picture to the title page and including a table of contents.
