Getting ready to upgrade my computer.

I have 2 WD 40GB 7200 rpm hard drives. I is currently in use on this machine (listed in sig). The other is still in the box.

I was going to buy XP, but don't know if I should get the home version or pro. I use my computer for net surfing, gaming, and some business stuff.

Thanks

It sounds like you would be fine with XP Home. XP Pro has more security features, multiprocessor support, and the ability to log onto domains. If you don't need any of these things, then you don't really need XP Pro.

I went with XP Pro for my last build just because I like the "restore" capability and some other features. But for ordinary home use, it's overkill. BTW, Mwave has a good deal on the OEM versions of XP Home and Pro; $88 and $138 respectively.

Are you talking about the System Restore feature, LawyerRon? That's in XP Home too.
