I have an old Gateway P4D-66 desktop (not tower). It has a 66MHZ 486DX processor which is not very useful nowadays. Rather than throw it away, I want to use some of the parts to build a new computer. I need to know if I can install a new motherboard and processor using the case, and if it is possible, what would models of motherboard and processor anyone reccomend? I'd appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks. Dave

That box will make you a fine router, if you install the right Linux firewall distro on it. Some can reside on a floppy.
All else is pretty futile, I'm afraid.

Thanks I'll think about it.
No way are you going to be able to put a modern motherboard in that case, and I doubt that you have anything in there worth keeping except the floppy drive.
