I just ordered an ATI 9600 Pro.
Now what is the best way to install it? Load the drivers off of the driver CD or get them straight from the net? What site would I get the latest drivers from?
What would be the best way of installing this card?
Thanks.

Use the driver CD that comes with it.

You gotta remove your current video card drivers and get the system to recognice your current video card as a generic video adaptor first. You might want to check your current video card maker's website for instructions on how to really remove the drivers. This is just a precaution to be sure the drivers from both video cards don't clash (they shouldn't, but this just makes sure they don't).
If that's a genuine ATi video card, go to the ATi website and get the latest WHQL certified drivers for the OS you're using. You might want to check the FAQ's to see if there are any issues with the hardward in your system too. Read whatever you can find about video driver installation at the ATi website to ensure you install the drivers correctly.

Install the drivers that already come with the CD, if you have problems then download from ATI as Cricket suggested.

XP installed the drivers for my current video card. So, since the drivers are microsoft (native) drivers, I shouldn't have to uninstall them. Right?

No install the drivers from the CD that came with your card. XP installs the drivers auto but not all of them. Don't uninstall the drivers that XP auto installed when you put the card in. Go ahead and install the drivers now.

I don't have it yet.
It should be here tomorrow. I just want to make sure I don't screw this up. The machine is running so good right now. I just don't want to throw a wrench into the works. :D

Just installed it. I'm showing 2 display adapters in device manager.
Radeon 9600 Pro
Radeon 9600 Pro Secondary
Is this right? I tried to un-install the secondary adapter but it loaded up again. I'm confused.
It is a dual head card. Is the secondary adaptor the second display? Is this a stupid question? :p

Did you remove the drivers of the old video card?

Yep. I checked display settings and it shows 2 monitors.
1 is Radeon 9600 Pro
2 (is grayed out) Radeon 9600 Pro Secondary
I only have one monitor hooked up.

That is the ATI HydraVision feature in action. It is in case you want to use dual monitors with your card. It is perfectly normal.
