Trying to get Norton Utiliies out of my system

I have been trying to uninstall Norton utiliies off my computer for some time now. It seems to leave bits and pieces that will not go away. So, the lastest problem is at bootup,just before win98 starts, I get "problem with starting application - check system.ini or registry" then list the program trying to start.
"c:\program"\symantec\symevnt.386"
I've looked in msconfig,registry,win explorer for files to delete.Any other hidey holes to look in?

After reading about the Bugbear virus in General discusion, I thought I would try one morre time to reinstall Norton Systemworks. It took this time and corrected the problem in my first post.
