What is the exact error message you're getting?
Are you installing OS with just the motherboard, CPU, heatsink, video card, RAM, case speaker (if you don't have a on-board piezo speaker), power supply and monitor? Or do you have any PCI or ISA cards installed?
Have you tried another IDE cable yet?
Have you swapped out your RAM yet?
Is that system information in your signature? If it is, it's way too long and you'll have to shorten it or remove it. It's a pain to scroll through.

The fact that your autoexec.bat file still refers to "Wininsto.400" seems to tell me that your install didn't finish normally. That's usually cleaned up after a successful install.
Are you running more than one network adapter, or using a Novell client? That's where I'm used to seeing mprexe.exe.
I'd test your memory (kt gave you the link to MemoryDoc), hard drive (use the manufacturer's diagnostics), cdrom (you can use SysSoft Sandra from a working PC http://www.sisoftware.uk.co)
Then go through your motherboard's manual one more time & double-check your Bios settings.
If the hardware & Bios look OK, try the install again from the very beginning (with a clean drive). You have several partitions, so scan all of them for viruses as well. A good way to double-check is to scan the TrendMicro's online tool, HouseCall (http://www.trendmicro.com - navigate to "online tools")
Best of luck ( & hi there kt, Cricket, & Joe)

Oops...I typed the SiSoft address wrong. It should read http://www.sisoftware.co.uk
Sorry about that.
