Being bilingual, I sometimes surf spanish sites. I was browsing a particularly aggressive site which threw up lots of windows, including one for sexy pictures. I must have done something wrong in closing the windows, because a new button appeared in Internet Explorer 6 toolbar called "sexo". I have managed to remove this from the toolbar, but can anyone tell me how to remove it from Customize Toolbar's Available Toolbar Options?

Try going into control panel, then add/remove programs, and see if that program is there, then remove it. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your prompt reply, boxcarracer767. The offending item is a BUTTON on the toolbar not a program. Looked in Add/Remove anyway just in case, but can't recognise anything there that might be connected.

Try running a search for sexo, then delete it.

Thanks guys for your assistance. I managed to find the associated program with the offending button (which was CoverCrashSex.exe and I have successfully trashed it) but the button obstinately remains. I found the word "sexo" in the registry under the key: Windows\current version\explorer\doc find mru, and deleted the word. The button is still there, and would appearto have been embedded into Internet Explorer. It is more of a nuisance now as it does not do anything, but I'd still like it removed. Any other ideas?

Thanks Andy, and veryone else who helped.

I found the relevant file in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions

Deleting the file has solved the problem!
