Can anyone help...

My PC has started to reboot on its own when I'm in windows. Sometimes it can happen as soon as windows has just loaded or sometimes while I am just using the computer normally for 5-10mins. I have a virus scanner which detected no viruses and a firewall. Also when it does reboot on occasions it will get into a rebooting loop and just as it turns itself back on it will reboot again and again until I pull out the plug.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Adrian

Kinda sounds like a power supply problem. Do you have (or have access to) another you can test it out with?

Yes I do. I also just read another thread

Relates to capicitors on the motherboard that could be causing the power failure. Any suggestions?

I'd change out the power supply first. While you're in there, carefully examine the capacitors on the motherboard for any signs of leakage.

Also, check that all the power connections are tight and all cards and RAM sticks are inserted fully into their slots.

Clean out the inside of the case...make sure the fan openings aren't clogged with dust too.
