Notice any enhancements? I have read that it will probably be better for smp systems, but perhaps no real improvement on singles.

Whicn kernel are you refering to? I am running 2.4.20-18.9 on my RedHat box and truth to tell, I haven't noticed any difference. Then again I haven't tried anything too demanding!
