I believe our election mess is starting to come to a close.
The USSC has put a stop to the partison Fla. SC. They didn't take the hint the first time that they should judge the law first and not their political ideals. Hopefully, this should be over by the end of the week.

This one will never be resolved. Bush will be president but that's about it. The Dems will always say that if the votes would have counted they would have won. I even heard one Dem say that if all the votes were counted Gore would win FL by 23,000 votes.

To use their fuzzy logic, a dimple is a vote. It is also a vote if they voted Dem all the way and there was no mark for president. That logic is not applied correctedly. They asked one of the canvassing board members what would happen if a ballot had a dimple and a punch through for president. He said that they would count the punch out and ignore the dimple. Now wait a minute, you said earlier that it was a vote. They also asked him about some ballots where the person had written in the candidates name in the write-in section. He said that those ballots were disqualified because the person did not follow the instructions. The instructions also said to punch the hole out.

The favorite line now is that someone some day will count all these ballots and we will know for sure. I really don't think we will. We have also as the Chief Justice of FSC says opened up something that can never be closed. What has been opened up is a new way to get into office via the courts. That is a shame.

I hope you are right, but the dems just announced that David Boies will be doing the argument before the USSC tomorrow. When this guy gets into a courtroom, all bets are off.

If the Supreme Court decides against Bush, what does that mean? Does it mean the counts can continue? Does it mean that if they are imcomplete, they will be accepted. There will be no possible way for the count to continue timewise even if they decide. Do they also set the standard for a vote? If so, they will have to go back and recount ballots that had the wrong standard applied. I think that they will just say enough is enough and stop the madness.

If Bush wins it is over sooner. If he loses then it is over later. Who knows maybe they will kick it back to the FSC to decide.

The USSC kicked it back to FSC because they changed the rules after the election. That is against the law. The FSC still went ahead with the wrong decision. That is why the USSC wants it back.
Bois will get nothing other then a hoarse throat.

"Watch out for the Seminole and Martin co's. appeal to FSC."

This appeal actually gives the SCOFLA another headache they don't need and can't reconcile, in light if their recent rullings. It seems they HAVE to affirm the lower courts' decision.

Being semi-retired, I've watched a lot of the proceedings, and from arguments earlier, I thought Judge Sauls was correct and that he would be upheld. I hate to admit it, but I do think paritson politics entered in the decision, and that was the reason for my statement. The Seminole and Martin co's. decision is in the appeal process now, and I do believe the FSC will reverse. I don't think it will stand with USSC since ballots weren't involved, only applications to fix a clerical and printing error.

If the FSC reverses the Seminole & Martin cases, they will contradict themselves. They have always been for every vote being counted. The odds are very slim. They were tried with 2 different judges, one of whom would have loved to give the case to Gore but could not. But they could reverse it just out of spite. I think that they will refuse to hear the appeal.

The new strategy being developed by the Dems is to try and get the electors to defect. They have been calling every Republican Elector to try and persuade them to do the wrong thing and switch their vote. Who knows they maybe throwing money (or a chance to spend the night at the White House) around. Nothing suprises me as to the levels that they will sink.

Yes, and you just KNOW they have dossiers and ex-girlfriends willing to "tell all" on an elector. Some Dems are just a bunch of cheap trash.

I don't care what the dem's say or how many votes they recount, just as long as Bush is in the white house. With the Republican majority in the house and Cheney's vote in the senate in case of a tie, Bush will get more done the right way.
