I am in the process of trying to set up my new PC, But my CD-RW & DVD-ROM are not being found by the BIOS. I have the DVD set to Master & CD-RW to Slave. What am I doing wrong.
My system is: Asus P4G8X Deluxe, Lite-on Drives, 512MB RAM.
Any help will be great!!

What kind of IDE cable are you using? If it's a 80 wire UltraATA cable, set the drive jumpers to CS (cable select).
Is the secondary IDE controller enabled in BIOS?

Are you using a 80 wire or 40 wire IDE cable? For 40 wire IDE cables you would set the drives to master or slave.
Try the system with one of the optical drives removed from the IDE cable.
If the system still doesn't recognize the optical drives, replace the IDE cable.

Its a 40 pin, I did what cricket suggested by swapping the ribbon but still nothing.
Why did it stop working??

As Cricket suggested, have you tried just connecting one device at a time?
Have you tried having each drive re-detected in the BIOS - setting them to AUTO?
Are the drives LEDs lighting up during POST?
If not, then make sure the power leads are securely connected. Try swapping the power leads.
What make and wattage of PSU? Have you another PSU you can try?
