burning cds

please help, recently i installed a digital camera with acdsee software and device detector 1.3. since i have done this my burner hangs at about 30% and i get messages scsi/atapi command timeout error or a no search error. in the past i have used nero ver5 with no problems. i have uninstalled and reinstalled nero, switched to adaptec reinstalled uninstalled acdsee all to no avail any suggestions

Disable Device Detector and try again.

i am running 98se, using imation 80min cdrs, i tryed an old sony 10x cdr and it works must be bad media thanks for the suggestions
