Diskeeper is a very good piece of software and has some amazing features above and beyond what is provided for Win2k/XP (both OS' have Diskeeper) like boot-time defrag, frag-guard etc etc. However, unless you are:
1) running a server, or
2) are having hard drive(s) full of files of low life-cycle, and
3) feel you are getting severely crippled by the amount of time that the native version of Diskeeper that comes with your OS is not enough,
4) or that you want your hard drive to be automatically defragged when there are too many fragments,
then I wouldnt say that Diskeeper is worth it, even though its only $30 or so.

I think Diskeeper is well worth the money!

In Diskeeper >
Action > Boot time defragmentation
Select the volumes / drives and click set.
Reboot.
