Backup AV Scanner [Archive] - PCMech Forums

I am looking at two possible AV programs to use as back up scanners for my NOD32 . Probably don't need either but what the heck. They are Kaspersky Lite,if it can be set up to have the constant protection not load on boot. I just want to use the on demand scan. The other is F-Prot for DOS. What do you think would be the best to use?

Either one is fine if it's only a back-up AV scanner.

I prefer F-Prot because it doesn't run in Windows.

Thank you for the info. How effective is it when it comes to catching viruses? I have heard good things about KAV.and wasn' too sure about F-Prot.

F-Prot has an excellent detection engine.
