Whenever I run NIS at the same time as Internet Explorer, it randomly pops up with errors and asks if I wish to debug them. The pages that it pops up with work fine, but the noise and pop up are annoying. Is there a way of disabling NIS's silly little warnings?

Get rid of Norton and use the built-in firewall or the free SygatePE.
The only products Norton sells that are any good are the Anit-virus and PC Anywhere. All the other stuff is problem causing junk.

I agree. I tried Norton System Works when I first installed XP Home and quickly found it's services were redundant to what XP already had built in. I'm still using the AV, but the rest of the stuff went. All it did was clog up and slow down the system.

More "How to do it stuff".
Norton "AV" works.
The Firewalls work.
Begin with the basics and don't fall for the "all in one" package.
