I was having a problem booting to windows xp.After I got to the win xp logo I was getting a long pause for at least a minute so I put my disk in and went to the repair counsel and typed in Fixboot and hit enter.Well the long pause is gone but now when it boots I get a menu asking if I want to go to win xp home edition on the hard drive or to windows setup.I did something wrong somewhere.I just want to get rid of the menu and boot to the hard drive.It's running fine other than that.Thanks

Heer is the way to edit the boot.ini to get rid of it.

You simply edit the boot.ini in notepad to get rid of the setup windows option. Be sure and create a restore point and save a copy of the boot.ini to anotehr folder before doing the edit.

This is what I see in note pad:[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
Can you tell me what to edit?thanks

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP Setup"
That's better.I got to many machines running at once.At the end I see "BOOTSECT.DAT=MIcrosoft Windows XP Setup".Should I edit out that?Thanks
