Nice tribute; however, I'm afraid we (meaning USA) are losing the our direction (meaning the fight on terrorism). With Iraq the war on terrorism is sadly taking a back seat.:(
Dont ruin it with politics, man. Listen to the message, take it personally, and remember it. Be proud you live in such a great country.

I'm with you avx, ya gotta stay true to the red, white, and blue! That kind of stuff gets me mad all over again. Wanna find the old Army fatigues and go join up again. (Good thing they won't take old, fat guys!) Oh yeah, for those that want to join, they'll furnish the uniforms!!

I will say I have not forgotten.
I have to agree with the following country artist and songs
Toby Keith's Song Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
Also Daryl Worley, Have you forgotten--( I really like this one talking about taking all the footage off TV)
Alan Jackson, Where were you when the world stop turnning.
there are others but those jump to mind.
Also, just to toss mud in the eye of the RIAA, I own each of the CD's those are one. It is amazing but people buy good stuff.
There is one more that I can't describe, Last I knew it was an unknown artist. It is a Man talking about the events as the Voice of God. It is the Most Moving peace from 9 11 that I know of. It still tears me up. I don't believe it is copy righted in anyway. I will try to check round, I would like to share it with you guys once I know I would not be breaking a copy right.
First time I heard it, it was on the Local Radio Station and they told they didn't know who the Artist was. It was also available for download on their website and I got it there and still have it.

I think that as a cinematic 'item' it is very good and very touching. The use of music and images does conjure up emotions (not tears) even in a non-American, who is often very harsh to American policies. I will say however that their was a quote by Samuel Adams (I think) that said something along the line of "Everything must be sacrified to defend liberty and freedom..." It seems the US Government has played around with that and now sacrifices liberty and freedom, in the name of liberty and freedom.

AVX, Combat vets sometimes look down their noses at Coasties, but don't let it get to you. The job they do running down drug trafficers (is that a word?) and search and rescue are as dangerous as any combat job. The movie "The Perfect Storm" showed the type of stuff Coasties can get into. Not sure if that was Navy or Coast Guard rescue, but either is equally challenging. Good Luck, young man. Any military experience will be life altering. You go in a boy and come out a MAN.
