Email sharing using AnalogX

On installing the AnalogX (v4.14) on the machine having internet connection, I could succesfully share the internet on LAN machines.

However I am unable to share the POP3 enabled Email.
I could only send the mail to myself.
Receiving was not possible.

Changed the https-rules.txt file to allow all ports ( *:"Allow"). still no change.
All protocols are "ON"
Mails sent to other addreeses do not get through.
For the POP3 and SMTP servers I have entered the IP address of the machine with yhe internet connection.

What could be wrong?

To add further details,
The PCs run on win 98.
The email ID, POP3 and SMTP server names have been entered in AnalogX config.
Also AnalogX is made to run in closed state.

where IP address of proxy server have been entered in place of POP3 and SMTP server names.

That's the only downside to AnalogX - email configuration is a pain. A better solution is a router (if you are sharing broadband that uses an external Ethernet modem) or Windows ICS (easier but not better) if the "server" is 98SE or newer.

Well, in any case is there any better / simpler proxy server that can handle POP3 and SMTP ?

As I said, Windows ICS is simpler. If you want the best proxy on the planet, get Winroute Pro, pay through the nose.
