So I call my isp today because i can get on aim and get my mail but cant get any thing on IE.

Cant ping my host eather..

He tells me its tuff to get into it on the phone and i have to bring in my tower. He says its win shock or win shock.

so what is this?

plus if its any help, i got this from my error log

there's a whole bunch of differ ways to fix it, depending on what exactly the problem is. Search microsoft's D-base for solutions. You could prolly just get an updated winsock.dll file off of a friends comp and put it on yours.
Oh, and it's called WinSock (windows socket) and has something to do with tcp/ip programs and such like telnet, ping, and of course M$ IE.

so the dll just goes bad and they want me to bring it in, eather way its working now. can any dll work or does it have to be from a xp sy system?

The winsock can go bad for several different reason, mainly it is damage by another program

Sometimes uninstalling firewalls incorrectly can lead to that kind of damage, sometimes spyware can cause it and other times removing spyware can mess it up.

The fix is more then just replacing the file normally, it involves the regi. I have heard of programs that will repair it for you like the one REDO listed.
