Are there any manufacturers out there that make a replacement CPU fan that will fit a stock P4 heatsink? My fan is making a lot of noise and I want to replace it. I'm not overclocking and don't plan to.

Thanks.

I haven't heard of any aftermarket replacement fan for the stock Intel heatsink but you might want to contact Intel and see if they'll send you a replacement.

Or you can just purchase a quiet aftermarket heatsink and fan combo.

Well, I'd prefer to swap only the fan so I don't have to:
disconnect all the cables/wires on the mobo, take the mobo out of the case, remove the original heatsink/fan combo, scrape off the original thermal pad, lap the new heatsink, put on artic silver, install it on the CPU, put the mobo back in the case, and reconnect all the cables/wires.

if its a stock 60mm fan, just about any slim 60mm fan will do. if its a 70 mm fan i would look into one of the TMD fans, those are the only 70mm fans i can think of off the top of my head.

many places carry them. i know http://www.sidewindercomputers.com
carry's them from 40mm to 120mm in size.

my stock heatsink for my 2.4C had a different fan on than the heatsink i got with my 2.4B, so see if you can get hold of a newer intel heatsink and take the fan off.

You don't have to go through all that to remove and replace a P4 heatsink. Unplug the fan, throw the 2 levers over, and lift it off. The black thermal stuff comes off the top of the CPU easily with alcohol.

but he said he didnt want to have to pull the heatsink off, just replace the fan
