I've been getting hacked lately (I think).
I'm running Zone Alarm, but he found a way in I guess.
Anyways my question is, will my IP address be changed if I switch ISP's?
If not, what else can I do?

Thanks

What exactly makes you believe you are getting hacked?

Changing ISP's is a drastic way of preventing a hacker.
Most ISP's give you a dynamic IP address. So all you would have to do is turn off your router and computer for a couple of minutes, then turn them back on and renew your IP address.

Thanks for the replys.
I think I'm getting hacked because my hard drive keeps spinning and my system acts funny sometimes. The main thing is - a clip from some song sparatically plays by itself all the time. It's annoying. It could be a trojan, but it only happens when I'm online. I think I know who's doing it (if I'm not just paranoid).

I'm going to switch ISP's anyway soon so it's no big deal.
I was just wondering if the IP would change, if that would make it harder on him.

Thanks

yes the IP will change, and it may make it harder on him depending on how he's hacking you.

Five minutes of your time and an aluminum baseball bat will solve your problem, if you know who it is, or confirm your suspicions.

A new IP will likely not solve your issues. Most trojans also have a "reporting" feature that will broadcast your IP address.

Change your IP only if you are sure you havent tried the following:
- Run an antivirus program to thoroughly scan through your drive
- Repeated with an alternate online scan
- Run an antispyware detection program
- Gone through the list of programs that are running on your computer at any typical point in time and keeping a stringent eye on whats loaded.
