Okay guys, I am back, and have just decided to go ahead and get a new comp, but I want to build it myself to save money.
Hoping you guys will be able to help me. Tell me what is missing, do I need any extra fans, or anythign like? Is it all compatible, and all that fun stuff, and would it be a good computer. Keep in mind that I already have a good monitor, and a geforce 4 ti4400.
Without further ado, here it is. (copied and pasted, sorry for the length)

Looks pretty good, just a couple suggestions.

Change the hard drive to a Western Digital "Special Edition" with an 8meg buffer.

No CDRW drive?

Get 2, 256meg sticks of that ram to utilize the Dual Channel feature on the motherboard. It will give you better performance.

You can save some money using the Asus P4P800 Deluxe motherboard. It is an excellent P4 motherboard.

Everything else looks great, should be a speed demon. :)

The one thing that really sticks out is that wireless mouse. You can get a standard USB laser mouse for less than $30. I recommend a logitech ;)

What are you going to be using the system for? If it's not sound intensive, you could probably use a Sound Blaster Live! card. That would save you a few bucks too. ;)

Ooooh a P4P, or whatever, will definatly look into that. As well as add a cdwr drive.

EDIT: Oh, and the hard drive, will look into that as well.

The mouse is there because I already have far to many wires laying around, its blue, and I want to be able to set up those extra button on the mouse to do whatever I want them to using smart mouse or whatver.

Its mainly going to be a gaming pc, but I will be using it to listen to all my music, and I dont really no anything about good sound cards.

Also, what about extra fans, that is what I am worried about, will need any? Would it be a good idea to some just in case?

Thanks for the quick replys and help guys.

That Antec Case comes with 3 fans already installed, which is plenty. Intel systems run very cool, you won't need anymore. :)

From what I've heard, wireless mice aren't too favorable among gamers.

What kind of speakers are you using?

The SB Live! 5.1 card I got cost me $30. ;)

Looks good, except for that motherboard. It is the budget version of the P4P800, and it does not support that ram. Change the board to the $121.99 board here: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=P4P800+Retail It will support the DDR 400 ram and be a great combination. :)

The motherboard you have listed is the MicroATX form factor, and its the VM model. MicroATX is a smaller sized board without as many pci slots. That board also has onboard video, which you do not need, since you have a Geforce 4 already. Pick up the P4P800 Retail at the link I posted above. It runs for $121.99. It will be full sized and it wont have onboard video that you dont need. It will be a great build! :)

If you really want to save a small bundle, try going for a P4 2.4C HT CPU ($169 on newegg.com), or a P4 2.8C HT CPU listed for $267. ;)

Looks good to me........BUT.........am I just missing it or do you have a video card picked out? I have the ATI 9800 Pro and love it (but it is around 400.00).

I'm gonna agree with forceflow, if you want to save some money, go with a 2.4c. You could easily overclock it to 3.0 and save your self $300. All my friends that have o'ced there 2.4's have no probs, and you won't be able to notice a difference between the two. The question is are you willing to overclock? That is what i plan on doing.

I'm not trying to tell you to buy anything, but if were you i would buy a DVD drive. Maybe not a DVDR, but you might find yourself wanting to watch a dvd of somesort on you comp.

Other than that it looks like a beast. Good luck

Okay, changed my motherboard to the 121.99 one, or how ever much it was.

I have a geforce 4 ti4400 in my old comp which I will be putting in the new, thanks though.

A DVD drive would be a excellent idea=P Thanks, must of overlooked that one hehe.

I have no idea how to overclock, and I might look into in the future, when its need. I am assuming I can overclock the processor that I am getting, but I wont want to mess with that until it absolutly needed. Money is not really a factor either, besides getting the biggest bang for the buck.

Thanks,
Phat.

Yes, the processor your getting can be overclocked.

Being that your getting a pretty decent high end machine, you are getting a pretty good bang for buck deal...That rig will take you a good long way...

You might want to upgrade the VidCard in about 6 or 7 months, but other than that, its a grea rig, good luck with it
