Msi Ti4200 Vs Ati 9200

I'm looking to buy one of these 128mb cards. The MSI should be clocked at 257mhz memory and 250mhz core. I can't find the specs for the ATI 9200. Does anyone have the specs? Which one would you choose?

I would choose the MSI TI4200 in my own experiance I love the way they perform and they are very popular as well.

I'd go with a the Ti4200 as well. My card performed very well until it died...but that's not that card's fault, just the manufacturer (*cough* avoid PNY *cough*)

I've read some poor reviews of the 9200. I'd go with the ti4200, or better yet, for the same price I'd get a Radeon 9600pro and have DX9 functionality. Just my opinion though.

I have to agree... why are you comparing those two cards when the 9200 is considerably cheaper. Go with a 9600 for a better comparison price wise, then in my opinion, go with the 9600 for better performance.

So all agree that the 9600 is the better card. My local PC store has a few 9500 and 9500 Pro in stock as well as the 9600 and 9600 Pro. What would your choice be now?

9600 pro for the beef, but you'll want to get a new motherboard to make full use of that agp 8x coz a k7s5a dnt support it!!

I'd go with a 9500 over a 9600 if the choice came down to that. Not only is the 9500 faster than the 9600, it's possible to mod a 9500 non-pro into a 9700. I'm not saying go for the 9500 just because of that, but that is something to consider.

The 9500's outperform the 9600's, but the 9600's run cooler and use less juice and they are also very overclocking friendly, even with stock cooling.

I've been told that the 9500 supports DX9, while the Ti4200 would not.

True, if you want dx9 then the 95/600 would be a good call. If you only do dx8 or lower games/apps, then the 4200 is the power.

You would also have to change the mobo for the Ti4200. That card is also AGP 8x. That is if you want it to work to its full extent. It is 4x compatable though.

Oops, forgot to add that you should go with the MSI Ti4200. Great card! Not a big fan of the Radeon's.

Depends on your priority - if gaming is your thing, get the 4200, if good graphics is, get a Radeon of some sort. The ATI has a better 2D display.

You won't even notice a difference with AGP 8x compared to 4x. Don't waste money on upgrading a motherboard just to use AGP 8x. Supposedly, even the bandwith of 4x isn't used fully, and benchmarks and tests show that using AGP 8x with the same card doesn't offer any noticable benefit compared to 4x.

BTW, the newer Ti4200's <b>are</b> 8x AGP. I have one :D
