cleared my computer (I so thought) of the msblas worm..comput worked fine all day 8/15--on booting it up today (8/17): windows would not open..it would go to the screen offering the several options (ie safe mode/restart in last gook configuration etc)..no matter which option I would choose, windows (XP-Pro) would not start--it would reboot and return to thiis "option" screen.
I then went to safe mode> ran McAfee virus scan>it found avirus>removed it>all seems fine now,,,,McAfee did not name the offending virus.
This occurred despite having (a) removed the MSBLAST worm, (b) installing the microsoft patch for this (MSblast) virus??
Is there another virus making the rounds?
(I even checked the registry to ensure the offending liones were removed from MSBLAST virus).
