I've got a newly built PC, GA8PENXP mobo, 512 mb DDR Corsair XMS, 2.4 PIVc.
My problem lies with my video. When I boot up Windows XP it gives me an error saying that it's detected a new device and is searching for the Standard VGA Adapter.
Windows can't locate the driver anywhere. Now, the screen and desktop looked fine, but my problem was it wasn't recognizing the MX5200 ultra video card.
I looked into the vga driver that it said it was using, and listed below were a number of conflicts with the memory settings for the AGP device. I assume those conflicts (even though it said the standard vga adapter was working fine), are what is prohibiting the system from recognizing the 5200.
However, when you first boot up the system it does give me the 5200 specs at the top of the screen... so part of the computer obviously knows its there. But part clearly doesn.t
I disabled and then deleted the vga adapter that Windows XP was using, figuring that upon reboot the system would reinstall a new driver and I could go from there.
Well... no such luck. Now, the system boots up through the bios and then just gives a blank grayish screen.
I've tried loading the system in safe mode, in VGA mode and in regular windows mode.
All attempts have the same result.. a grayish screen with nothing at all on it.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
