Right now, Im on an expensive build project. Can anyone give me some flat panel monitor choices that are cheap, because im on a strict budget right now. And if possible with a black color choice. If i can get flat panel, i guess CRT is O.K:confused:

You give no indication where you live, but if it is in the states, Sam's club has some good deals on flat panels if you happen to be a member. They have a Samsung 19" for $546.00 and a NEC 17" for $396.00.

Newegg and Mwave have good deals with reasonable shipping if you don't live near a city with Office Depot, Staples or Office Max which also have some good deals in addition to Best Buy.

I would try to avoid some of the off brands. I have never had a problem with a Samsung or a NEC but I did with both Hansol models that I ordered.

It's hard to go wrong with a KDS.

Other decent budget brands are Sceptre and CTX. The last Samsung I sold had too many bad pixels for my liking, it had a double that was stuck bright - very annoying.

As GLC said, KDS has been making great FP monitors. They come with a nice 3-year warranty, too. I've seen some really nice Samsung's, but they are the higher end models. ("T" series)

Also, Cornea seems to be a good off-brand solution.

Flatpanels:
Samsung, Sony, Nec, Hitachi.

CRT:
KDS, Samsung, Viewsonic.
All good companies. personally i would go Hitachi for LCD and Viewsonic for crt but for budget KDS does a really good job.

I just got an NEC LCD1760NX, which is black, looks great, has both DVI and Analog inputs, and with shipping was $455 from Newegg.
