I am being told that the new google tool bar is spyware, anyone know for sure if it is or not

I don't know the answer to that, but if I can type out 'google toolbar spyware' and click I'm feeling lucky on the <b>google</b> search, and yet come up with a good search result then at least the search results arent being doctored ;)

i know when i installed it, there were 2 options, 1 was to send information back to google to "provide better information." and another one was not to send information to google.

If it`s spyware then I should be able to detect something with spybot or ad aware,neither of them pick up anything from google,so my guess is that it`s not spyware.

There are two options for installing the Google toolbar, one with the advanced features that report information back to Google and the one without the advanced features. I've recently installed the version without advanced features and am checking my system daily for spyware and ads and so far have found nothing. I don't think that it's spyware, but i could be wrong.
