My employer recently purchased a G85 Printer, Scanner, Fax machine all in one. Well it worked great until...
We can not scan from the desk top. It says the printer is disconnected, when it is not. It is on the network and everything use to be running great, but I do not know it just stopped!

I can tell you with certainty, that there are some driver issues with that printer and Win 2K, that HP have yet to sort out.

A small company that I do some work for has 2 of them and since they have had Win2K Dell's, the printer has been nothing but trouble. HP are aware of the issues and insist that they are working on the fixes.

So, they will be working on the problem for another 100 years, in the meantime do you buy anotherall- in one or should I just go the extra mile and buy them all seperate?

well if you went to xp, it has the software built in for thoes printers, otherwise I would get the seperate devices,

but it would be less expense to switch to xp

I have a customer with a G95 on an external Jet Direct, and it works fine on Windows 2000 workstations as long as the monitor is removed from the startup.

I know what you mean about HP. I have Win98SE and got just a HP scanner because my PC was HP. I was never able to get that scanner to install right from the git go. Finally, 3 years later HP admits that the software sent with the scanners was corrupt. They had a new CD-ROM that had the correct software, but you had to pay shipping and handling to get it.
Iwas so frustrated with that scanner I went ahead and payed for the CD. Boy was I glad! My scanner now acts like it has always been part of my system. thorlo6
