if your the impatient type of person who is probly tired of hearing this question on these forums and doesnt wanna talk to someone who is new on the subject, dont read further.

otherwise can anyone help me out, im curios about how i can overclock my system.

its in my signature but not all of it is up to date.

my mobo is the asus A7S333, CPU is Amd Athlon 2100, 2 sticks of 256 PC 2700 DDR

ive looked at the websites like overclocking.com or whatever and the other ones but i never really found anything that seemed to adequetly explain anything. Ive also searched this forum and have seen tons of info but none of it seems applicable to my system.

Ok,

Go into the BIOS and see what settings your mobo will allow.

You want to be looking at lowering the multiplier and raising the FSB. Remember to do this in small steps and then check that all runs well, before upping the FSB again.

Keep an eye on your CPU temp's if they start to raise above the safety level (65C, imo), you will need to look at some extra cooling in regards of the HSF.

Try and keep your AGP and PCI buses running at stock as upping these can have undesired effects..

thanks i tried that.

well i wasnt able to change the multiplier, if i lowered or raised it the computer wouldnt start.

I was able to raise the frequency from 133 to like 138, any higher and the comp wouldnt start, bringing me to from a total of 1733 mhz to 1780. Not the greatest overclock i guess but its something...

A lot will depend on the memory, if your using cheapo generic or stock crucial/kingston et al, you will not have a lot of room to move.

You have got a little OC tho'. Keep playing and you never know.

See if your BIOS allows you to up the voltage to the cpu and or memory. If so do it in as small a amount as it will allow and try upping the FSB again.
