Well Im still looking at laser printers and found an HP1000 for 150$ but am not to sure as to their quality anyone have opinions? This would be brand new. Any other suggestions as far as a laser printer would be appreciated (for in the range of under 200$).
My other option would be to get myself a refurbished HP 4+

The HP1000 is a nice printer. Can't go wrong.
The HP1000 is a very nice printer for the money. Its limitations are it's USB only and it's host-based like most inkjets - which means it's a Windows-only printer. It's also relatively compact and lightweight. There are no other *new* lasers for under $200 that I would even consider.
If you are looking for a workhorse that will sustain heavy printing loads, print from any OS on the planet, and run forever, go for the refurb 4+ if you have room on your desk for the beast. Printing speeds of those 2 models should be very similar, supplies will be a bit cheaper for the 4+, especially if you use recycled cartridges. Memory upgrades on a 4+ are real cheap - it takes either 4 or 16 meg standard EDO 72 pin simms.
