Hey all,

I don't know how many of you already know this but here it goes: If you happen to screw up your registry and did not back up your earlier registry you can use the regclean command. Boot to a C: prompt (or wherever your windows directry is at). Then type in:

C:\Windows\Command\regclean /restore

It will bring up a window and ask you which registry you want to restore. Windows actually keeps a couple registries from earlier for a couple days for you to restore, so this is a little trick, in case you mess up and really don't want to reinstall windows. Hope this helps some of you guys out.

It's a great tip for people that don't know it's there.... but don't you mean SCANREG flopster?

yes I meant scanreg....where was my head? The correct syntax should be:

C:\Windows\Command\scanreg /restore

If you restart in DOS mode or boot to a command prompt, you only need to type scanreg /restore - \windows\command is in the default path.
