I decided to install q3 again so i d/l new patch which i think is 1.32 and started playing. I found that it was jerking, i got ADSL in January (576k). I use to play alot on this same computer about over a year ago but with 56k and i had no problems of this sort. I can only explain this jerking as comp lag. Ill try to explain it more, my ping is around 30 so it cant be that i set my rate to 7000 which should be right for my connection. When i move it seems to take about a second to react. It does this now and again, its not constant like every 5 seconds or somet. I get about 80fps and have everythin low.
Hope you can help me.
comp specs 800Mhz, 128 mb TNT 2

Are you using a KVM by any chance?

It just depends on what server you are on at the time. Your ping may be low, but sometimes you can recieve lag from the other end. Kinda weird. I have a 1.5 mbit cable connection and have troubles every once and awhile with certain servers being "laggy."
Also, are you running any programs in Windows or your OS while playing the game? That will effect your performance also.

Hmm but my friends who i play with are fine, we play on same server and they dont ahve no prob. I can type and stuff and the msges and still sent its jus very jerky.
Yea i do have programs running in the background but im not sure which ones are ok to end, theres alot and it would be a pain havin to turn em off each time i play. Could it be somet to do with my firewalls? Msn 5.0?
Wots KVM?
Thx for you replies!

KVM=Keyboard Video and Mouse sort of thing that is used so you can have one Keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor used with multiple computers. And it is best to just turn off any programs like MSN, Kazaa... etc. just in case....
You could try exiting all of the porgrams just once and see if it works. If it does, then you know your problem. If not, then you have something to figure out.

Is your hardware all updated from their respective web sites? Try that. Get all the latest downloads for your video card. It might be having an issue and is making your screen look "jerky."
Also have you tried reinstalling Quake 3? And the 1.32 patch?
