The Mystery of the Missing Start Button

Please help.

For some reason recently my start button (bottom left corner) is changing to my wallpaper background colour or colour of webpage background. This happens when you click on it the first time and stays this way until I reboot.

Sometimes the top right hand buttons (min,restore and max) also do this but not on every occasion like the start button.

I am using Win 98SE and have had a new graphics card fitted fairly recently and I feel it may been coincided with the card been fitted.

Any ideas??

may wanna try new video drivers.

go to the graphics card makers website and download the latest graphics card drivers then down load the latest version of direct x from microsoft make shore you get the full network download not the small setup one get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A6DEE0DB-DCCE-43EA-87BB-7C7E1FD1EAA2&displaylang=en
when you have down loaded every thing disconect from the internet turn off your anti virus prog and run the vid card driver setup after it finishes you will reboot the computer turn of your anti virus aggen and run the direct x setup prog when that finishes reboot the computer has the problam bean fixed ? post back with results
