Okay, three months have gone by since my last build and after continually tweaking and adding to my computers, I'm ready to build again. In the coming months, there are alot of juicy tech developments that make me want to wait, but I've got that itch.
I want everyone's opinion:
Build now?
or wait?

Im waiting to see what the new AMD chips bring. Probly by March next year for my new build.

You've already got a machine that is almost top of the line. I would wait to see what the next few months bring. Especially since this is the beginning of a financial quarter. Nearing the end of the quarter, prices should drop to produce more sales.

I think that we are all in agreement here.

Do a case mod to fix the itch to build.

Intel or AMD..... I would wait... With AMD, you would want to see whats coming with the 64 bit CPU's and see what the pricing and performance is going to be like. I already have pricing on the motheboard (ASUS)... about $360CDN. Nothing yet on the CPU or what a 64 bit version of XP is gonna run.

As for Intel, the new cores should be on the way here pretty quick as well.

Go with LJ... mod your case for fun now.

Yeah, I was thinking of adding a water cooling system, but that's pretty risky.

But, if you screw up, then you *have* to build a new rig! :D ;)

That's very true. :-)

Hey, Werewolfdaddy, how ya doing?? Haven't "seen" you in a while!

I voted "wait" but don't have anything new to add on what's been said above :)

Change all your flat cables over to round! That would cure your idle hands for a bit, anyways... :)

been around, just haven't been putting in my 'two cents' lately. I will be around more though.
