i have a Linksys 2.4Ghz Wireless-G Broadband Router and i am having networking problems...

i got a 3rd computer about a month ago and installed a Linksys Wireless-G PCI Network Card Adaptor to add the computer to my home network. it worked fine for a while, until one day a little over a week ago when i turned my computer on it would no longer connect to the network. i had no clue why it was not connecting... the other 2 computers were connected fine and i was able to send files back and forth just like normal, so i knew it was my comp. i uninstalled (at least thats wut i thought) the driver that came with the network card, and then put my network card into a different PCI slot and booted up to install the driver back. well, it did detect the network card when i booted up, but it didn't detect it the way it was suppost too. according to the directions that came with the card, when you install the card and boot up, it should detect the card automatically, and start installing the driver, after i insert the disk. well, it did this the first time i installed the card when i first got the computer and it worked fine, but it didn't do this when i tried reinstalling it. instead, it went straight on to the next step in the directions, skipping the first step and it gave me the little message that is suppost to come up in the second step saying "One of more wireless network connections are available" in the bottom right corner, and it says to click on the little icon that the message is pointing too, which i do, and i follow the directions and do the same thing that i did before when the card worked fine. but after i hit "Connect", it never connects, no matter how many times i do it.

so i was beginning to get the unfortunate feeling that maybe my card is just fried, so i packaged it back up and was ganna return it, but then instead i decided to try a normal Linksys Wireless card (not the same card as the Wirless-G i had in my new computer) that i had in one of the computers that i already had networked, which supposivly is suppost to be able to work together. well, i installed it in my new computer, and it did connect (well, it wasn't really connected i don't think, but it said it was) but the internet wouldn't work like before. So i went to My Network Places just to be sure that it was seeing the host computer, and it showed the host computer, but when i double clicked on it to try to access files in the shared folders, i got an error message saying something about i don't have permission to access files on that computer, and that the network path was not found. so now i have the original Wireless-G Network card i used, back in my new computer. now, i honestly don't know if the driver is installed or not. its very strange, because i uninstalled it using device manager and add/remove programs in control panel, and searched my computer, and can't find a single trace of the driver anywhere... yet what makes it strange is that it acts like it is still installed. when i put the disk in to try and run setup again, the setup window comes up, but then closes immediatly before it even finishes loading, it just kinda flashes. no matter what i do i cannot get it to run setup. so basically, i got a network card in my new computer that is not recognizing the network in my house i THINK because i did not correctly uninstall the driver and can't get it to install back. another thing i noticed when i had the regular Wireless card installed was that when i tried to manually configure the IP address, thinking that leaving it on automatic may be the reason why i have the problems since i figured maybe it was just chosing the IP address of one of my other computers, but when i went to manually configure the IP address, i used the same IP address that i used before when the card was working, and when i hit ok, i got a message saying that something else is using that IP address and that i may have problems making a network connection if i use that IP address. my dad installed a network bridge just a couple days after i started having problems, i don't know what a network bridge is or what it does, but i guess that could possibly be what is using the same IP address? i don't know... im posting this just to see if any of you guys had any ideas of what i might be able to do, because im about to the point of where im ganna just reformat and start over. please help if possible.

thx!
