After getting some help from a friend with setting up a network between two computers, I can still receive email but find I can't send any outbound email. I have Verizon DSL, am using a Linksys wireless-G access point along with a Linksys DSL router. First computer has WinXP, and the other has Win98 SE. I am getting this message when trying to send:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'email', Account: 'Verizon', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
I have checked the in/outgoing settings, the ID/password, unchecked the WinXP fiewall settings. I know I'm missing something, but don't know where else to look. Does anyone have any ideas on this one? Thanks.
Kathy
