this is one of the most useful links on the Cisco's web page:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm

it links you to all the documentation on any cisco product

right from the installation section of the documentation:

"When connecting to switches or repeaters, use a crossover Category 5 cable. Pinouts for the cables are described in the "Cable and Adapter Specifications" section."

i believe those switches have builtin web servers. set an ip address then use your web browser and browse over to that ip. you can set most parameters from there.

yes they do. it is called (depending on how old the switches are) either Visual Switch Manager or Cluster Managment Suite.

give the switch and IP address and enter that IP address in your browser and off you go. you can also have any other switches in that famiy (29XX and 35XX) share the same IP address and control all of those switches from the same IP address (up to a maximum of 8)
