http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75501
I started a thread and TwoRails thought we could get a new answer by a new thread so here goes.
On the audigy card the pins in the back are for the ribbon cable that attaches to the face plate that goes in the tower.
I dont have that piece.
I have a case that has a headphone and mic jack in the front. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what the pins are for this sound card so I can hook up the front of my case.
TIA

Hi scott_d,
Sadly, I had trouble with the link. I tried finding an answer (after your inspiration) at their site but came up empty...
Did your link show the pin out arrangement?

Hi STIGMATA,
Don't know why I didn't think of this before... but I should be able to do a continuity check and see where those connect to, but I can't remember off hand if there is any circuitry on the Live Drive that would mess that up...
If you don't get an answer soon, I'll take my box out to the work shed and dissect it...

--- just read the original thread ----
Yes, you can plug headphone into the speaker out (1st green plug) ... just tell it in the software that you are using phones. BUT unless you have a splitter (which I do not advise using) you would have to manually switch. Preferrably have a phones jack on your speakers.
I have the Audigy 2 and I don't think there's a way to connect. They do not have any connectors marked mic or spk/phones.

That just might be a good weekend project, STIGMATA! Take my box out to my workshed, have a few cold ones, and map it out!
My only concern is if the connector goes thru some circuitry or not. If not, then no problem. If it does, then most likely I'll come up zip...
We'll see :D

Bro no one here I mean NO ONE here drinks fosters man.
There is so much better beer here than that stuff..LOL
Hopefully you came up with something cuz right now I have to do the floorboard on my Ute. so I've been a way a bit

Well... What do beer do you drink?? Cause we need a little joy that my "research" won't provide. :(
I was so certain I could map them, that I made cute little drawings, matrixes, took photos, made custom jacks, etc... And about an hour later, after disconnecting my box and taking it out to the shed, I got to tracing the pins.
But, sadly, all that stuff on the Live Drive does indeed go thru a circuit board before it goes to the ribbon cable. I coud not find electrical continuity on *any* signal wire.... only ground wires.
Not finding any on the first attempt, I did it four (count 'em), four times. Then on the second and third inputs, I did each one three times...
No joy :(
Sorry....

Well bro thanks for trying.

As for beer what I found thats pretty good Carlton's Mid strength beer. Thats stuff is good and the popular one here is EMU bitter not too bad either.
Once again bro thanks for trying.

It was worth the try, anyway.... I'll see if those beers are availible here in my little area... (and, no, I didn't get any Fosters! I forgot...)
Later :)
