I finaly got my DVD drive working correctly and now I can play DVD's. Though I still have a sound issue. If I play a DVD with WinDVD Platinum (fully functional tial version) the sound is fine except for the fact that it sends too much bass to the satelite speakers on my Logitech Z-640 speaker system and not enough bass to the sub. If I play a DVD with Windows Media Player 9 the sound is much louder and the bass goes to the sub. But when there is a loud noise like an explosion the volume drops. It's like it has automatic volume control. I am suspecting the "AC3 Filter" in the control panel because that's where WMP takes me for DVD sound options. What do I do?

Well I finaly figured it out. I noticed a slider moving up and down while I was playing a DVD. It was the "DRC" option in the AC93 Filter which is aparently the DVD decoder for WMP 9.
