mobo/cpu combo question

I'm looking at getting a new motherboard and cpu this weekend at the computer show here. right now I have:

Gigabyte GA5AX
AMD K6-2 450w/3D Now
10 gig western digital hard drive
Soundblaster Live X-Gamer
Voodoo 3 3000 agp
128 meg pc100 Ram
48x CD Rom

In about a month this will all be upgraded(except sound card). What is a good mobo and cpu that will work with what I have for a while but give me options to move ahead.
I want this mostly for games and Photoshop Graphics.
Someone told me to look for Abit or DFI (I think that's what they said. I saw some combos for around $220 last time(700 duron and moboard) Any suggestions on what to look for.

I would go for the Epox 8KTA2, 128mbPc133 ram, and 750Duron package at http://www.MWave.com for $240... or pick out a nice ASUS or ABIT if you dont like the Epox (which I do) :)

and for a grafix card I would get the Inno3D Gefore 2 GTS for $165 or $188 (with TV/out) at OCIE.com

Also, the Epox has a ATA100 IDE controller... so I would go get an ATA100 Maxtor or IBM Deckstar... they are usualy around $130-140 (30gb)


The ASUS's and ABIT's also have ATA100 IDE Controllers

it just depends on what model you get
