Is it possible to get wireless printers or scanners? Or an adapter that would allow this?

yes, some are infra and some are wireles acess networked printers, scanners is kind of pointless cause you have to be at the scanner to use it anyway

You can get a wireless print server to plug any printer into, this would require a wireless access point on your network too. There is no such thing as a wireless scanner.
