Hi all,
I got this card on friday and promptly installed it. All I can say is WOW!!! Playing Q3 at 1024x768 High Quality and still get almost 80 frames per second it great! So far ATI has not dissapointed me. The only problem I have had is that my system will not complete the 3dmark 2000 test. I'm using win2k and direct x 8 though, so maybe it's a direct x or windows 2000 issue. I'll try it in win98 and see what happens. I am overclocking, but those are not heat issues I'm experiencing, since Q3 runs fine and so does CS. All I can say is GREAT CARD!!! GO ATI!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a nice screenshot from 3dmark2000 taken at 1600x1200x32 highest quality. Click here to view it (http://www.frontiernet.net/~kmechler/highquality.jpg)
(It's about 450k so it will take a little time to load)
Wow, great clarity there Flop. I always liked the image quality of ATI cards, they just never had speed compared to 3dfx.
Lets hope they keep up with driver updates, ATI may well be a fine replacement for the void that's left from the fall of the Voodoo line.
What kinda frame rates do you get in the standard benchmark games?

Hey Xayd,
Well I have not done too much benchmarking but at 1024x768 highquality settings in Q3 I get about 75 frames in demo001 and about 77 frames in demo002. These were taken before I installed and ran a Radeon Tweaker program so now they might be more. Funny thing is that I actually get less fps with SMP enabled...weird. I played some Counterstrike today and the graphics quality at 1024x768 was just superb. As you read in my other thread, I still have not been able to get 3dmark2000 to work perfectly for me, but I will try it in win98 and see what happens. I've been very impressed with this card and have had zero troubles with it in win2k using direct X 8. If you're out shopping for a new card buy the radeon today:)

Yeah, very nice card. I bought one Ebay last week and installed it in my new system today. Quake 3 is indeed very cool!
I do have one question though. How long does it take your Radeon Arc demo to load? Mine is taking something like 10 minutes to load...
Check out my 21/Jan post in this graphics forum for system info, etc...
Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

Where do I find the Radeon Arc Demo? On the cd? I've never ran it.

Yes, on the cd. Try it and let me know your load times.
It's at the bottom of the install screen where the drivers are at.

Well bad news here...the demo won't even run under win2k..it goes about 1/4 way loading before it throws me out. This is one a fast system...Dual PIII600 @800 384mb's of ram...etc, then again the madonion's 3dmark 2000 demo runs but doesn't finish. I hope to try both of these under win98 and see if they work better. Anyway to give you an idea..even loading the demo 1/4 of the way took a couple minutes for me, so I think that is normal.

Well, it is nice to see that this card works out great, I cant wait to get it to work though.... I just bought this card today and installed it into my computer... worked fine. But then when I tried Test Drive 5, the game would start as just viewing the image background of the game! I dont know why this did that, and I am not happy about (because I love this game) but also, when I tried to run Quake 2, the game would start off in software mode, I would go into video-> and change the setting, first to 3D fx, the game would freeze, then to default GL and that would just restart the game into software mode, and the samething for Open GL slide. If any body can help, please do, for I am without games with out this help....
P.S. -> We think it has something to do that a setting couls be wrong, please help.
Thank You in advance
Jon
