Language Printing Issue in Word 2000

I scanned a letter in a language different than English, and saved it as a photo. I tried to print it as a photo and it was unsuccessful, so I inserted into a Word 2000 document as a photo and tried to print. I got a message saying, "Insufficient Memory or Disk Space (I have 40GB and 33.7 of it is free). Word cannot display requested font." Any idea of how to fix this or go around it? Thanks.

How big is the image - resolution and filesize? What is the file format (the extension name?)
